Frequently Asked Questions

What is Quran MP4?

Quran MP4 is a free online tool for making Quran videos. You choose a surah and the ayahs, add a recitation (an online recitation from Quran Foundation or your own audio file), check that each ayah appears at the right moment, style the video and export an MP4.

Is Quran MP4 free?

Yes. Every feature is free for everyone — there are no plans, credits, subscriptions or locked features, and the watermark is optional. To keep the shared render server available, there are technical limits: videos can be up to 10 minutes long, audio uploads up to 60 MB and 15 minutes, and there is a limit on how many exports one connection can start in a short time. Optional donations don't unlock anything.

Can I create Quran videos without an account?

Yes. There is no sign-up. Your projects are saved in your own browser on this device, so clearing your browser data removes them. Uploaded audio and finished videos stay private to your browser session.

Can I use my own audio?

Yes. Upload MP3, WAV or M4A up to 60 MB (up to 15 minutes). The file is checked on the server before it is used. Only upload recitations you are allowed to use.

Which Quran reciters are available?

The Online Recitations tab lists the chapter recitations Quran Foundation provides for the surah you selected. The list depends on the surah, because not every reciter has every surah. You can also upload your own recording.

Can I export MP4?

Yes. Videos are rendered on our server with FFmpeg as MP4 files (H.264 video with AAC audio) and checked before you can download them. The download stays available for about two hours, so save it to your device.

What video formats are supported?

9:16 (1080×1920) for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts; 4:5 (1080×1350) and 1:1 (1080×1080) for Instagram posts; and 16:9 (1920×1080) for YouTube. You can switch format at any time in the editor.

Can I use Quran MP4 for TikTok?

Yes. Pick the TikTok preset (9:16, 1080×1920) and, if you like, show the TikTok safe-zone guides so the ayahs stay clear of the app's buttons. The guides are only shown in the editor and are never part of the video. Quran MP4 doesn't post anything — you upload the MP4 yourself.

Can I use Quran MP4 for YouTube Shorts?

Yes. Use the YouTube Shorts preset (9:16). For longer recitations meant for a regular YouTube video, use 16:9 (1920×1080). Check YouTube's current rules for Shorts length before you upload.

Does Quran MP4 generate Quran text using AI?

No. The Arabic text comes from a verified dataset (Uthmani script from The Noble Qur’an Encyclopedia, via the quran-json dataset) and is checked against a checksum every time a video is rendered. It can't be edited in the editor — you only change its styling. Translations are published human translations (Saheeh International for English, Muhammad Hamidullah for French).

How are Quran timestamps created?

In three ways, and you can always adjust the result by hand. Online recitations from Quran Foundation often come with the provider's own ayah timestamps, which are used directly. Auto Sync analyses the pauses in your audio on our server to suggest where each ayah starts — a suggestion you should review. And Tap to Sync lets you tap at the start of each ayah while listening. Word-by-word highlighting is only offered when the provider supplies a timing for every word.

Can I edit the Quran text?

No, on purpose. You can choose the font, size, colour, position and effects, but the words themselves always come from the verified dataset.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, Quran MP4 runs in a modern mobile browser. Choosing a passage, a reciter and a template works well on a phone; fine timing adjustments are easier on a larger screen.

What happens to the files I upload?

Uploaded audio and rendered videos are stored temporarily so the server can make your video, and are deleted automatically (audio after about a day, videos after about two hours). Details are in the privacy policy.
