Sources & Credits

Everything Quran MP4 shows comes from a named source. Here they are, with their licences.

Quran text

  • Arabic: The Noble Qur'an Encyclopedia (quranenc.com), Uthmani script.
  • Dataset: quran-json 3.1.2 (CC-BY-SA 4.0).
  • Verification: a SHA-256 checksum of each surah is stored when the dataset is imported; the server checks it every time it loads a surah for a video. Text from the browser is never used for rendering.

Translations

  • English: Saheeh International (tanzil.net).
  • French: Muhammad Hamidullah (tanzil.net).

A translation conveys meaning; it is not the Quran itself. Translations are shown in videos only, separately from the Arabic.

Recitations and timestamps

Online recitations, their audio files and their timestamps are provided by Quran Foundation (quran.foundation) through its Content API. Quran MP4 doesn’t host or sell recitations; uploaded audio is provided by the person who uploads it.

Backgrounds

The background library is original artwork generated for Quran MP4 (no stock photos). Images or videos you upload are your own.

Software

Videos are encoded with FFmpeg (ffmpeg.org). Text is drawn with Skia via @napi-rs/canvas. The site is built with Next.js and hosted on Cloudflare.
