Many people keep a “Quran verse of the day”: one ayah, read slowly with its meaning, that they come back to during the day. Short ayahs work best — they are easy to remember and to repeat. Below are well-known short verses, each from the verified text with its English meaning and a link to its place in its surah.
Remembrance: “Remember Me”
2:152So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me
A short promise often quoted on remembering God (dhikr) and gratitude.
God is near
2:186And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided
Revealed in the middle of the verses about fasting in Ramadan, this ayah answers people who asked about God: He is near and answers the one who calls on Him.
Hearts find rest
