How to Make Quran Reels for Instagram
Make a vertical Quran Reel that reads well on a phone: the Reels preset, safe zones, passage length and text contrast.

A Reel is watched full-screen on a phone, often on a loop, with Instagram’s own buttons and caption drawn on top. These steps make sure your ayahs stay readable in that setting.
Use the Instagram Reels preset
In the right-hand Format panel choose Instagram Reels. It sets 9:16 at 1080×1920 and selects Instagram’s safe-zone guide. Switch on Show safe-zone guides to see where the caption, account name and buttons will cover the video. The guides never appear in the export.
Pick a short passage
One to three ayahs suits most Reels: every ayah gets enough time on screen to be read while it is recited. Longer passages are possible, but text then changes quickly and becomes harder to follow.
Place the text above the caption area
In the Text tab, keep the vertical position near the middle or slightly above, and reduce the max width a little so the text doesn’t run under the buttons on the right. If you show a translation, “Below ayah” keeps it close to the Arabic.
Make it readable
- On a detailed background, raise the dark overlay in the Background tab or add a slight blur.
- Glow (Text tab) or a text box helps light text stand out on a light background.
- Word highlight (Effects tab) helps viewers follow along when the recitation has word timings.
Feed posts
For the grid instead of Reels, export the same project as Instagram Portrait (4:5) or Instagram Square (1:1). The timing stays the same.
Upload
Download the MP4 and upload it as a Reel from the Instagram app. Check Instagram’s current length and size rules before posting. More on vertical videos: Quran reel maker.
