How to Make Quran Shorts for YouTube
Create a vertical Quran Short and a 16:9 YouTube video from the same timing, with YouTube's safe zone in mind.

YouTube shows Quran recitations in two forms: Shorts (vertical, brief) and regular videos (horizontal). Here is how to make both well.
The Short
- Choose the YouTube Shorts preset (9:16, 1080×1920).
- Turn on the safe-zone guides; keep the ayahs out of the bottom area where YouTube shows the title and channel, and away from the right-hand buttons.
- Keep the passage short so each ayah stays on screen long enough to read.
- Export and upload from the YouTube app or YouTube Studio. YouTube sets its own maximum length for Shorts; check it before you upload.
The full video
Switch the format to 16:9 (1920×1080). The layout adjusts to the wide frame. You can export up to 10 minutes per video. For a longer surah, split it into parts with separate projects.
Reuse your timing
Timing belongs to the project, so after one careful sync you can export the 16:9 and the 9:16 version without syncing again. Change only the format and, if needed, the text size.
Titles and credit
Name the surah and ayahs and the reciter in your title. In the Effects tab, Reciter name shows the reciter on the video itself. See also the Quran Shorts maker page.
